Puncak City Police currently is investigating the assault on Sinak Military Post personnel at Sinak Market, Gigobak Village, Sinak District, Puncak Regency, Tuesday (1/24).
The attack occured around 17:00 local time by unknown individual using a sharp weapon, killing the personnel. The assailant reported has stabbed the victim numerous times.
Head of Papua Police Public Relations, Grand Commissioner Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, confirms the incident.
He confirms that the incident resulted the death of Sinak Military Post personnel when he was about to bought some cigarettes. It was said that the assailant approached the victim and assassinated the personnel.
“We suspect that the anonymous is part of Puncak Armed Criminal Group, but this allegation is still being investigated further,” he said.
He then revealed the name of the victim is Serka Jeky who is now being treated by the Military Medical Team of Sinak Post.
He adds that the victim suffers injuries in his chest, shoulders, armpit, and wrist.
“Joint personnel is investigating further the case in Sinak Market to find the perpetrator, along with its motives,” he said in conclusion.
