A woman with the initials of WS in Sorong, West Papua, burned by people to death after being accused as child kidnapper.
The police then investigate the case and arrest two people with the initials of AT and FT. The two were arrested by the police of Sorong City Police.
“The two suspect involved in the burning of WS have been arrested,” says the Head of West Papua Police Public Relations, Commissioner Adam Erwindi, quoted from Antaranews.com, Thursday (1/26).
Adam says that police arrested FT first at his house on Tuesday 18:40 local time. After further investigation, Sorong City Police arrested another suspect, AT, on Wednesday (1/25) around 18:00. Police stated that AT was the one who bought the fuel oil and gave it to FT.
The two are charged with Article 187 paragraph (3) and/or Article 338 and/or Article 170 paragraph (3) and/or Article 160 of the Criminal Code junto Article 55 of the Criminal Code junto Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
According to Adam, police still investigating the case and says there might be another suspects.
“It is possible that there are other suspect after we investigate the case further,” says Adam.
Adam says the burning of WS happened on Tuesday morning in Kokoda Complex Kilometer 8, Klasabi Regency, Sorong Manoi District, Sorong.
The incident started because of misinformation related to child kidnapping.
People then start accussed WS as the one who kidnaps the children and took the issue upon themselves by burning the accused.
