papuachornicle.co – Jayapura. Vice Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk confirmed that she will immediately hold a cross-ministerial technical meeting to follow up on the results of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming’s visit to Papua on September 16–18, 2025.
“There are many things that need to be improved. This has been noted, and we will return to Jakarta and hold a technical meeting shortly,” said Ribka after accompanying Vice President Gibran at a closed meeting with the officials of Papua province on Wednesday (9/17/2025).
In Gibran’s visit to South Papua, Ribka mentioned that many school facilities in the area needed improvement. Similar improvements were also seen in healthcare facilities, both in terms of physical aspects and governance and management.
During a series of visits to Papua, Vice President Gibran also reviewed the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, the condition of educational facilities, and healthcare services. The issue of Regional Transfers (TKD) was also discussed.
“Many healthcare facilities and hospitals need physical improvements, including governance, management, and so on. We met with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) here earlier; there are many issues we need to resolve,” she said.
Ribka added that Vice President Gibran’s directives would be immediately followed up, particularly regarding education and healthcare. Regarding regional funding, she said, discussions would involve various ministries, particularly the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
She emphasized that coordination at the central government level would be continuous and intensive.
