The Regional Secretary of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun have been appointed as the interim of Papua Governor after the arrest of Lukas Enembe by Corruption Eradication Commission.
The assignment of Ridwan as the Interim Governor of Papua is based on the issue of Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Number 100/326/184/SJ of Janury 11th, 2023, regarding the Assignment of Regional Secretary of Papua as the Interim Governor of Papua.
“I have been told by Kemendagri, through Directorate General of Regional Autonomy, virtually or through Whatsapp message. And for the letter itself, it will be taken by the Assistant for General Affairs to the Regional Secretary for Papua Derek Hegamur,” said Ridwan Rumasukun in Jayapura, Papua, Thursday.
According to Ridwan, the community service of Papua Province until now is still running as usual. He also stated that the infrastructures development is also goes as usual despite the tumult in Sentani Airport and in around Jayapura City Police HQ.
“There are no special instruction from Kemendagri. For that, I hope the community would continue their support to the local government and security personnel in carrying out their duties,” he said.
As the Interim Governor of Papua, Ridwan said that he will coordinate with Regional Leadership Coordination Forum of Papua, related institutions, and also Indonesian Military Force and Indonesian National Police.
“After I have been assigned as the Interim Governor, I will coordinate with Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, both in regency and city level, as quickly as possible,” he said.
