Merauke Deputy Regent, Riduwan, appreciated the process of forming Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) in South Papua Province. This was conveyed by Riduwan in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) of assistance and supervision in facilitating the establishment of institutions and staffing of regional apparatus in the new Papuan Province.
The event, which was presented by the Directorate General of Regional Autonomy of the Ministry of Home Affairs, was held at Halogen Hotel Merauke, Friday (7/10/2022).
“I am grateful that the Directorate General of Regional Autonomy held this FGD which discuss the formation of the Regional Apparatus Organizations, which has been planned to be formed for around 22. This is the beginning of the formation of the South Papua Province which has begun to started, and we are grateful for it,” he said.
Riduwan explained, that the OPD will be established based on the needs of the regions, while further refinement of the draft for the formation of a new OPD for South Papua Province will continue to be carried out. It is also stated that the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) who occupy positions in the OPD must be experienced, fair, and in accordance with their duties, fields, and expertise.
“Our task is to perfect the overall design, so that nothing is left behind,” he said.
He revealed that all representatives of the district government covering the area of South Papua Province, namely the Merauke Regency Government, Mappi Regency Government, Boven Digoel Regency Government, and Asmat Regency Government, were also present at the event. His party emphasized that by holding the FGD, all officials involved will be much more focused and thorough about the various OPDs needed.
“The perfection of this design will be better, more complete, more comprehensive, but we also have to be fair, because there are four districts where each district has their advantages and disadvantages,” he said.
Riduwan hopes that the result of the FGD will really be able to fully describe the OPD of the South Papua Provincial Government.
