The shootings that had been done by unknown individual have happened in Trans Road of Teluk Bintuni Regency – Maybrat Regency, on Thursday (9/29) evening.
The Head of Public Relations of West Papua Police, Commissioner Adam Erwindi said that Teluk Bintuni Police Chief, AKBP Junov have confirmed the incident.
“Yes, it’s true that there was a shooting to a worker of Trans Road Teluk Bintani – Maybrat worker on Thursday (9/29). We got this information around 18:20 WIT,” he said.
“The information was received from Task Force Organik Yonif RK 136/TS Post, in Mayerga Village, West Moskona District. And they said that there was a shooting by an unknown person,” explained Junov Police Chief.
The Head of West Papua Police Public Relations also stated that the police have been investigating the case thoroughly.
“At the meantime, the case is still being investigated. The Police Chief, along with the personel of Military District Command and Mobile Brigade unit also trying to evacuate the victim and coming directly to the crime scene,” he said.
“The incident began when 12 workers, whose building a road in Majnik Village to North Moskona, heard a loud gunshot and then was attacked by a barrage of gunshots,” continued Commissioner Adam Erwindi.
“Due to the attack, one of the workers got shot in his right hand, while the other 11 victims ran away to save themselves and report the incident to Task Force Organik Yonif RK 136/TS Post,” said Adam Ewindi.
