Tete Mandosir Sarumi originally had the surname of Sarumi and came from Kabuow Village, Teluk Mondama, which now part of West Papua Province.
He composed the song based on the story of a person who was going to Teluk Doreri in Manokwari while reminiscing his parents in the village.
This song was popularized by Corry Rumiono and is often studied in art lessons in school. Even the beat of the song is often used by football fans in their chants.

However due to the scarcity of information of Tete, not much can be said about him yet.
