After flying for approximately 5 hours from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo arrived at Sentani International Airport, Jayapura Regency on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 19:00 Eastern Indonesia Time (WIT).
In their arrival, the President and Mrs. Iriana was welcomed by the Commander of the XVII/Cenderawasih Military Region Major General Teguh Muji Angkasa, the Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri, the Regional Secretary of the Papua Province Ridwan Ruikutun, and the Commander of the Silas Papare Air Force Base, Colonel M. Dadan Gunawan.
At 19:20 WIT, the President and Mrs. Iriana and their entourage arrived at the hotel where they spent the night in Jayapura.
Previously, through his Instagram account @jokowi, Tuesday afternoon, August 30, 2022, President Jokowi said he would visit Jayapura and Timika, during his tour to Papua.
“This afternoon, I, together with Mrs. Iriana, will go to Jayapura and Timika in Papua,” said the President on his way from the Bogor Presidential Palace to Jakarta’s Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.
Also accompanying the President and Mrs. Iriana on their tour to Papua Province were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, and Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia.
