The Village of Nogolait, Nduga, reportedly has been attacked by the Armed Criminal Group of Papua. The shootings caused seven people died, two critically injured, and one only having a minor injury.
The shootings happened on Saturday (July 16th, 2022) morning, around 09.00 WIT, at Nogolait Village, Kenyam District, Nduga Regent, Papua.
The Chief Unit of Public Relations of Cartenz Peace Ops 2022, Police Commissioner Ahmad Mustofa confirmed the attack when interviewed by reporters from Jayapura.
“Yes, there was an attack to a civilians who lives in Nogolait Village,” said the Chief Unit of Public Relations.
The brutal attack of the Armed Criminal Group caused seven people died, two critically injured, and one having minor injuries.
“Those who died are YW, HG, DM, TA, J, A, YN, and the other two who are critically injured are N and S. There is also the other one who is having minor injuries with the initials of EB,” said Police Commissioner Ahmad Mustofa.
This attack is very unfortunate and should be condemned strongly. Innocent should have not be the victims of such irresponsible act. The security forces have already moved quickly in response to this act of terrorism from the Armed Criminal Group.
“The situation in Nogolait Village has gradually under control and joint security forces from the Indonesian Armed Forces, the National Police, and Cartenz Peace Ops unit has been dispatced to secure the area,” concluded Commissioner Ahmad.
