papuachronicle.co – Jayapura. The candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor number 02 Matius Fakhiri – Aryoko Rumaropen are currently ahead in the Gubernatorial Election recapitulation votes, according to the Papua General Election Commission (KPU).
However, the result is not final as the election organizer is still waiting for the vote recapitulation in Jayapura City and Mamberamo Raya.
According to the data of Papua KPU, the pair Matius Fakhiri – Aryoko Rumaropen leads with 260,468 votes, while the pair Benhur Tommi Mano – Yeremias Bisai was behind with 259,375 votes.
These vote results were obtained from Jayapura, Sarmi, Waropen, Yapen Islands, Biak and Supiori Regencies.
“Today’s plenary session is not final, because we are still waiting for the recapitulation results from Jayapura City and Mamberamo Raya Regency,” said the Head of the Papua KPU, Steve Dumbon, during the plenary meeting of the vote counting recapitulation at the Papua Province level, Tuesday (12/10/2024).
Steve Dumbon said that the recapitulation process in Jayapura City was still ongoing, while for Mamberamo Raya Regency, the recapitulation was hampered by weather conditions.
“We have checked directly in the field regarding the obstacles faced by our personnel at the location,” he said.
Until now, the plenary meeting of the vote counting recapitulation at the Papua Province level has been postponed until an undetermined time, as they are waiting for the recapitulation results from the Jayapura City KPU and the Mamberamo Raya Regency KPU.
