papuachronicle.co – Manokwari. The West Papua Provincial General Election Commission (KPU) has issued Decree Number 337 of 2024 concerning the determination of the results of the 2024 West Papua Governor and Deputy Governor Election.
The plenary meeting was held at the Husni Kamil Malik Hall, West Papua KPU office, on Jalan Abraham Atururi Arfai, Manokwari, Sunday (12/8/2024)
The plenary meeting was to determine the results of the 2024 West Papua Governor and Deputy Governor Election and ratifying the election results based on the recapitulation of the votes recorded in the Model D form.
Based on the plenary recapitulation results, candidate pair number 1, Dominggus Mandacan and Muhammad Lakotani won an absolute victory with 269,445 valid votes or equivalent to 92.88% of the total valid votes.
“This decision was determined by the West Papua Provincial KPU on Sunday, December 8th, 2024, at 19:26 Eastern Indonesian Time (WIT), and will come into effect on the date it was determined,” explained the Chairman of the West Papua KPU Paskalis Semunya in a plenary meeting.
“The decision was also announced to the public as the final result of the 2024 West Papua Governor and Deputy Governor Election,” continued the Chairman of the West Papua KPU.
Paskilasi Semunya said that in the 2024 West Papua Governor and Deputy Governor election, the total number of valid votes was recorded at 289,888 votes, while invalid votes reached 8,970 votes.
This plenary meeting was also attended by the West Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, The Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, West Papua Election Supervisory Body Chairperson Elisa Idie and her commissioners.
