papuachronicle.co – Merauke. Vice Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk reviewed the progress of the development of the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of South Papua Province in Merauke Regency, Saturday (11/23/2024). This agenda is to encourage the local government to continue to accelerate the development of the KIPP of South Papua Province.

South Papua Province is one of the New Autonomous Regions (DOB) resulting from the expansion of the Papua region. She explained that the expansion of the Papua region from the original two provinces to six provinces is an effort by the government to accelerate development in the region. This is also to shorten the span of government control considering that the Papua region is too big. Through this expansion, public services are expected to be more easily accessible to the public.

Ribka explained that the government in the four Papua DOBs is equipped with a number of roadmaps that need to be implemented to accelerate development.

“One of them is how we prepare the center of government in the four DOBs,” she said.

The Ministry of Home Affairs and related ministries/institutions continue to supervise the implementation of the roadmap. In addition to being sourced from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget, development in DOB is also supported by the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). Ribka also emphasized the importance of DOBs government continuing to coordinate with related ministries/institutions.

She mentioned a number of infrastructures that need to be accelerated in development. For example, the Governor’s Office, the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP), and the Papuan People’s Representative Council (DPRP). Therefore, she encouraged the South Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) to be able to complete the tasks carried out related to the acceleration of KIPP development, including the three infrastructures.

She asked for commitment from the ranks of the South Papua Provincial Government to complete the development.

“That is what is expected, acceleration from all Governors in their respective DOB regions,” she said.
