Head of Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri admits that there was a shootout when security personnel evacuates Damri (57), an ojek driver who was shot by an Armed Criminal Group, in Ilaga, Puncak Regency, Papua Mountains Province.
“From the report that we have received, it is true that in Monday (1/23) around 15:37, there was a shootout when evacuating the ojek driver who got shot by the Armed Criminal Group,” says Fakhiri to Antara media crews, Monday night.
He says that the shootout happened around Poros street towards Gome District, Puncak Regency.
The body of Damri have been successfully evacuated eventually and now is in Ilaga Hospital, Tuesday (1/24). He was scheduled to be evacuated to Makassar, to be buried in his hometown.
When asked about the group who shot the personnel, Papua Police Chief admits that he and his party still have no clue about who is the group who did it.
His personnel is still investigating the group and determine who are group and which part are they from. He also heard that there are several groups in that are who often harassed the locals.
“I’m still waiting for the latest report on that incident,” says Fakhiri.
