The Working Group (Pokja) III of the Task Force (Satgas) for the New Autonomous Regions (DOB) of Papua continued to prepare the preparation of Papua Mountains Province. The effort is done by reviewing the location of prospective temporary offices for the regional apparatus (OPD) of the Papua Mountains Province.

The review was one of the activities in their visit to Wamena, Jayawijaya. The visit began from 5th September until 10th September 2022.

The Head of Group III who is also the Director of Facilitation of Regional Balance Funds and Loans (FDPPD), Sumule Tumbo, said that before the inspection, his party and the team did a coordination meeting with the regency government throughout the Papua Mountains region.

The coordination meeting was aimed to finalize the preparations, particularly in a technical point of view of the inauguration of the Papua Mountains Province. During the meeting, Group III carried out further identification and verification of asset documents belonging to the Jayawijaya Regency Government and Papua Province. It is planned that some of these assets will be donated and loaned to the Papuan Mountains Provincial Government.

“We are grateful for the presence of regents or Papua Mountains representatives for their support. This agenda is aimed to continue to support the inauguration of the Papua Mountains Province,” Sumule said in his press statement in Wamena, Wednesday (7/9/2022).

For that, he asked that all the Regency Government throughout Papua Mountains to be more solid and unified in preparing the new province. The Government also encouraged to strengthen their joint commitment so that the inauguration of the new province could gone smoothly.

It was known that in the Coordination Meeting, the Group III also reviewed several lands that were planned to be used as the Papua Mountains Provincial government office. On that occassion, the Group, along with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Jayawijaya Regency and other relevant officials held a discussion with the local community.

According to Sumule, the local community basically supports the integrated construction of the governor’s office and government offices. The local community also welcomed the discussion carried by Group III with the Forkopimda.

After carrying out these activities, Group III reviewed the location of the prospective temporary office for the regional apparatus of the Papua Mountains Province. The review was led directly by the Head of Group III and accompanied by the Jayawijaya Regency Forkopimda and other relevant officials.
