The Ministry of Home Affairs continue to hasten the preparation for the inauguration of Papua Mountains Province. This could be seen from the presence of Papua New Autonomous Region (DOB) Overseer Task Force which has moved to three new provincial locations in Papua, Monday (5/9/2022).

The task force is scheduled to do their first working visit from September 5th to September 10th, 2022. They will visit Merauke Regency of South Papua Province by Group I, Nabire Regency of Central Papua by Group II, and Jayawijaya Regency of Papua Mountains by Group III.

In his statement in Wamena, Jayawijaya, Monday (9/5), the leader of Group III, who is also the Director of Facilitation of Regional Balance Funds and Loans (FDPPD), Sumule Tumbo, said that the group will continue to work in preparing the inauguration of Papua new province. He hoped that all related parties could fully support the effort and jointly committed in realizing the goal.

“We are here doing the identification concretely in this preparations, either in delivery of asset grants, borrow-to-use assets, or cash grants which will later be used to fund the administration of the Papua Mountains Province government,” he said in front of the media crew.

He hoped that Group III could be more solid, so that the effort in transition towards the inauguration of the Papua Mountains Province can be achieved according to schedule. Furthermore, Group III will later report continuosly the results of their visit in Papua Mountains Province to the officials of Ministry of Home Affairs.

He stated that his party, while in Wamena Jayawijaya, will do several verifications, such as verification of the temporary office of the provincial government, the location of the land for the provincial government, as well as the official residence of the acting governor and acting provincial secretary.

Other than that, his party will also do data verifications and documents for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) transfer, data and documents for assets transfer, as well as bequest documents. Not only that, the Working Group will also encourage the preparation of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for Fiscal Year 2022 and 2023, and carry out other agendas as necessasry.

On the first day of their visit, Group III has held a consolidation meeting at the Aithousa Bethlehem Building, Wamena, Jayawijaya. The meeting also invited the ranks of regents/deputy regents, regional secretaries and heads of related offices in Papua Mountains Province. After the meeting, all members of the Group III reviewed the location of the candidate for the temporary governor’s office, as well as other locations that were planned to become the official residence of the Governor of Papua Mountains.
