The clock shows the time was at 09.15 WIT, when suddenly 20 members of the Armed Criminal Group stopped a truck and brutally open fire indiscriminately on them.
The hot projectiles from their riffle caused ten innocent people to die. Of those ten, two of them are Religious Leaders of Kenyam. One is a Muslim preacher, Daeng Marannu, and the other is a priest from the local church, Eliaser Baye.
The act of terrorism by the Armed Criminal Group occurred at Nogolait Village, Nduga, Papua, on Saturday (7/16) morning. The Head of Public Relations of Papua Police, Police Commissioner Ahmad Mustofa Kamal stated that 10 people died due to the terrors of the Armed Criminal Group. The other two victims are still in critical condition.
The Deputy Head of Public Relations of Cartenz Peace Ops, AKBP Arif Irawan, revealed that the Armed Criminal Group indiscriminately opened fire on the trucks with their riffle.
The victims on that bloody Saturday morning are Yulius Watu (23) Hubertus Goti (41) Daeng Marannu (42) Taufan Amir (42) Johan (26) Alex (45) Eliaser Baner (54) Yuda Nurusinga (22) Nasjen (41) and Sudirman (36).
This is not the first time the Armed Criminal Group of Papua has done their heinous crimes. The criminal group has a long bloody history in Papua. In 2022 alone, the Group terrorized the locals many times and caused many innocent people and security forces to die.
On March 2nd, 2022, the Armed Criminal Group of Papua attacked employees who were repairing the Telkomsel Tower Base Transceiver Station (BTS) in Kago Village, Illaga District, Papua, at 15.00 WIT. The attack killed eight people, and all of them are employees of Palaparing Timur Telematika.
There is also the ambush of the Armed Criminal Group on the Indonesian Armed Forces Marine post at Quari Bawah Fisheries in Kenyam District, Saturday (3/26), at 17.50 WIT. One soldier, Mohamad Iqbal, died due to the attack, while the other nine soldiers are having major and minor injuries.
Moreover, on February 19, an employee, Glen Sumampo, from PT Martha Teknik Tunggal, was shot by the Armed Criminal Group when driving his truck. He was shot and died while working.
In early 2022, three soldiers from the Indonesian Armed Forces were pinned down by the Armed Criminal Group in Gome, Puncak District, Papua. The soldiers are Sergeant Rizal, Private Tupas Baraza, and Private Rahman. They died valiantly while holding their ground.
According to the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Papua Police, Commissioner Faizal Ramadhani, in 2022, the Papuan Armed Criminal Group attacked security forces in Papua and West Papua eight times, while the attacks on civilians occurred four times.
The attack on Nogolait Village added to the long list of bloody murders by the Armed Criminal Group. This act of violence should be stopped immediately and those who did it must be brought to justice.
