Nduga Police personnel, supported by the Cartenz Peace Task Force and the Indonesian Armed Forces, found another victim of the Armed Criminal Group shooting in Nduga.

The team, led by the Nduga Police Chief AKBP Rio Alexander Paranewen, S.I.K, found the victim precisely at the Adu Mama 2 uphill road, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Wednesday (20/07). ) around 02.00 WIT.

The Head of Public Relations of Cartenz Peace Ops, Commissioner Ahmad Mustofa confirmed the finding when asked by the reporters.

He stated that the victim, Roy Manampiring (42) is one of the victim of the Armed Criminal Group shooting in Nduga last Saturday (7/16).

“Roy Manampiring was one of the victims of the murder on Saturday, 16th July, 2022, led by the Armed Criminal Group of Papua, Egianus Kogoya. Roy was found on the Adu Mama 2, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency,” said Kamal.

Commissioner Ahmad Mustofa stated that Roy initially did not know that there was a shooting that killed 10 civilians in Nogolait Village. He casually walked from his camp, in the new airport construction, to Kenyam District.

“Based on the information that we received, he was having a walk from Batas Batu to Kenyam with some of his colleagues. However, the met with the criminal group and all of his friends ran to the jungle, saving themselves and leaving Roy,” explained Police Commissioener Kamal.

Roy’s colleague said that Roy loved to walk from Batas Batu to Kenyam almost every Saturday.

“Until now, the body of Roy Manamping is still in Kenyam Medical Center and was planned to be flowned to Mimika,” revealed Commissioner Kamal.

He also added, that previously on Monday, 18th July 18, 2022, information about the bodies of the Armed Criminal Group victims was still not clear. On Tuesday, personnel called the public who knew the whereabouts of the bodies to be immediately report to the police.

“After knowing the location of the bodies, the joint personnel immediately went to the location, but before arriving at the scene the joint personnel were attacked with gunfire from two sides,” concluded the Head of the Public Relations Task Force.

He then continued that due to the current situation and condition of the area, the personnel have to returned to their post.

“At 02.00 am in the morning, joint personnel returned to the location to retrieve the victim’s body, and was taken to the Kenyam Health Center for further examination,” concluded Police Commissioner Ahmad Mustofa as the Head of the Public Relations of Cartenz Peace Ops.
