Vice Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk emphasized that the implementation of the Simultaneous Regional Elections in Papua Province in general was running conducively, safely, and under control. He conveyed this after conducting monitoring with a group from the Papua Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) at a number of Polling Stations (TPS) in Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, and Keerom Regency.

Ribka said that the people showed high enthusiasm in voting. They have also conveyed their hopes to the governors and regents/mayors who will be elected later. 

For the border areas of Papua, her party is still monitoring the situation. She said, when there are reports of unrest in several districts, it will be handled by the Election organizers, especially the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) to resolve it in accordance with applicable regulations.

On that occasion, Ribka and her entourage visited various polling stations in Papua Province consisting of: TPS 005 JAPUT (Jayapura City), TPS 019 LVRI JAPUT (Jayapura City), TPS 028 Wajib Senyum Hamadi (Jayapura City), TPS 003 Kampung Wamena Koya Koso (Jayapura City), TPS 001 Kampung Yowong (Keerom Regency), TPS Heram (Jayapura City), TPS Kalkote Sentani (Jayapura Regency), and TPS Kampung Sereh (Jayapura Regency). She emphasized that in all the polling stations she visited, the implementation of the Pilkada went well.

“So, two regencies and one city that we have visited. This is the Papua Forkopimda group and us. Yes, we see that everything is running normally,” she said.
