Police have found the body of Papuan Activist, Michelle Kurisi in Kolawa District, Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua Mountains. The activist found dead with knife wounds, allegedly killed by the Armed Criminal Group.
“Visually we saw there are knife wounds, but we will investigates this further through autopsy,” says Head of Jayawijaya Police, Herie Wibowo when contacted through phone.
After being found, Michelle immediately evacuated to Wamena Hospital.
“Michelle and the others have arrived in Wamena Hospital. I am still on my way to get there too,” says Herie.
Michelle Kurisi was a Papuan Activist who reportedly have been kidnapped by the Armed Criminal Group. The criminal group later than proclaimed that they have killed Michelle.
The Armed Criminal Group suspects Michelle Kurisi being a spy from Indonesian Security Forces. They said that Michelle was trying to steal several data of the Armed Criminal Group.
Officials says that the perpetrator of the killing are likely those from Egianus Kogoya group.
Michelle Kurisi herself in fact was a Papuan Activist who is fighting for women rights, children, and victims of armed criminal group violences.
