A plane belonging to Susi Air was allegedly burned at the Paro Airstrip, Paro District, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains, Tuesday (7/2/2023) morning.

Susi Pudjiastuti as the owner of Susi Air, stated that the plane that got burned took off from Moses Kilangin Airport, Mimika Regency, Central Papua, at 05.33 WIT with a pilot and six passengers.

“The plane landed safely in Paro at 06:17 WIT,” says Susi to Kompas.com on Tuesday.

Then, at 07:28 WIT, Susi Air management got the information that the plane with the register number of PK-BVY still in Paro and haven’t flown back to Timika.

Not long after, officials detect a movement from pilot through portable GPS that the pilot carries. However, as of now, the pilot, along with the passangers is gone missing.

“At 08:05 WIT, we received an information through pilot’s portable GPS that they are moving to south,” continued Susi.

Regarding the plane that got burned, the information was received from another Susi Air pilot who flown from Dekai to Moses Kilangin Airport.

“PK-BVC flight reported that PK-BVY plane was burned in the Airstrip and there was no one around, including the pilot,” concludes Susi.

Previously, Papua Police Director of General Criminal Investigation Grand Comissioner Faizal Ramadhani confirmed that there was a plane burned in Paro Airstrip.

Based on statements of Susi Air officials, plane strongly suspected of being burned by an unknown group or individual as they stated the plane landed safely without any incidents.
