A better quality human resources is believed to be able to manage various resources well, including those that exists in Papua. This effort can also support the growth of the private sector in their respective regions.

The Minister of Home Affairs further said that regional heads play an important role in managing the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD). Therefore, regional heads need to manage the budget, one of which is by improving human resource capacity, such as through education and health programs.

“So please focus on the education of our children in the future, they must continue to attend both formal (education) and also open informal education in accordance with existing local potential,” he said.

He then gave an example of informal education that local governments can provide to communities according to their potential. According to him, if the area is known for its plantation potential, then the regional government can encourage it through plantation training centers. Likewise with other potentials such as animal husbandry, mining, and fisheries. Thus, the various potential resources can be managed properly.

Through this provision of expertise communities can build various businesses so as to create jobs for others. The existence of this business sector is important to increase economic growth in their respective regions. This of course needs to be supported by making a healthy environment for doing business, both for domestic investment and foreign investment, including for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

“That’s the key, together investation, we develop private sectors in regions, then the economy could rocketed,” said Tito.
