An earthquake with the strength of 5,4 magnitudo shook Jayapura City, Papua, Thursday (2/9).
According to the statement of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in their official Twitter account @infoBMKG, the earthquake happened at 13.28 WIB.
The epicenter of the earthquake is at the coordinates of 2.60 South Latitude and 140.66 East Longitude, 9 kilometers southwest of Jayapura City with a depth of 10 kilometers.
The people at Jayapura City, Keerom regency, and Jayapura Regency say that they felt the quake.
The agency stated there has no potential for tsunami.
