Security officials have arrested two highly suspected members of Papua Armed Criminal Group in Iwot Port, Sokango Village, Mandobo District, Boven Digoel, South Papua. From the hands of the two suspects, whom has the initials of AH (20) and MK (22), police have confiscated a firearm of Harrington and Richardson along with 18 ammunitions.

“Those who are arrested on Wednesday (1/18) were two suspects with the evidence of four firearms and 18 ammunitions,” says the General Criminal Director of Papua Police, Grand Commissioner Faizal Ramadhani in phone, Friday (1/20).

According to him, one of the firearms have been used to shoot police member in Dekai District, Yahukimo, some time ago. With said allegations, officials are highly sure that the two are part of the Armed Criminal Group.

“The guns (that have been confiscated) were used to assault (police) on November 30rd, 2022, at Yahukimo. Possibly, the two are part of Armed Criminal Group in Yahukimo,” says Faizal.

Faizal then revealed that there was an information that said the two are about to go to Papua New Guinea to bought another firearm. This information is backed by the evidence of Rp 3,8 million that have been confiscated from the two. “They are about to fetch another guns in Papua New Guinea,” says Faizal.
