Vice Minister of Home Affairs, John Wempi Wetipo reportedly will visit his home village in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regent, Wednesday (7/27).

To the media reporters, Wempi stated that the community enthusiastically welcomed the New Autonomous Region of Central Papua Province.

“Actually what we have heard in Jakarta and in Nabire is quite different. Here, the people enthusiastically welcomed the New Autonomous Region,” said Wempi, Tuesday (7/26).

According to Wempi, the New Autonomous Region will boost the welfare of the Papuans. He believed this New Autonomous Region will make the Papuans finally able to compete equally with other regions of Indonesia.

He also adds that with the New Autonomous Region, the development in Papua will be going to even more smoothly and better.

At the same occassion, Wempi said that he and his parties was planning to go to visit Wamena. Wempi hoped that the region would be fully prepared in welcoming the New Autonomous Region of Papua Mountains Province.

“Tomorrow I will visit my home willage, Wamena. I really hoped that Wamena could grow to be even better than the other regions,” said Wempi.
