papuachronicle – Jakarta. Following the official death of Private First Class Farizal Ramadhan by the Indonesian government, further sad news has come from UNIFIL, with Captain Inf Zulmi and Sergeant Ikhwan also reported dead in Lebanon.

It was also reported that two other soldiers were injured in an explosion that hit their vehicle in the Bani Hayyan area, Lebanon, on Monday (March 30, 2026).

The incident occurred at around 11:00 a.m. local time while Task Force Bravo (TFB) Indobatt was on an escort mission.

At the time, two TNI tactical vehicles were escorting the Spanish logistics unit, the Combat Support Service Unit (CSSU), in a six-vehicle convoy from the Eastern Sector Headquarters (UNP 7-2) to the Indobatt Headquarters (UNP 7-1) for resupply and the transport of a coffin.

Unfortunately, as the convoy was about to turn into the Bani Hayyan area, an explosion suddenly struck the first Indonesian vehicle (Ran 1). The explosion killed four soldiers inside the vehicle.

The situation at the location, still vulnerable and with high intensity attacks, prevented immediate body recovery. The escort team in the second vehicle (Ran 2) could not immediately approach the explosion site.

Nevertheless, personnel in Ran 2, consisting of Private First Class Ulil Amri, Private First Class M. Zakariya, and Private First Class Iqbal, successfully evacuated two injured soldiers, First Lieutenant Sulthan and Private First Class Deni. Both were then taken out of the conflict area and arrived at the Eastern Sector Headquarters at 12:00 local time for emergency medical treatment.

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) stated that UNIFIL’s Eastern Sector Headquarters is still compiling an official report regarding the chronology and developments in the field. Further information will be provided as the investigation continues.
