papuachronicle.co – Jakarta. The Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology and the International Academicians Science and Technology Innovation Center (IASTIC) of China are striving to strengthen collaboration in the fields of science and technology.
“We want to learn from China’s rapid growth and highly advanced industrialization. One of our great hopes is the rise of advanced science and technology-based industries in Indonesia,” said Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Friday (10/3/2025).
Brian emphasized that the country’s progress is determined by the development of research-based industries in the fields of science and technology.
He also said that energy, the automotive industry, solar panels, the transition from diesel to green energy, and nuclear power are national priorities for development.
“This development must be accompanied by looking at what is needed by society and industry today as a basis for research,” said Brian.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the IASTIC, Chen Qingquan emphasized the importance of collaboration between Indonesia and China as two rapidly developing countries.
According to Chen, to build an industrial-based nation, integration between science, technology, policy, markets, and culture is necessary.
“Asia, especially Southeast Asia, has grown to play a key role on the global stage. I hope we can build progress together and position ourselves at the forefront in facing the ever-changing dynamics of the world,” he said.
