papuachronicle.co – Timika. The Amungme and Kamoro Community Empowerment Foundation (YPMAK) is proud of the achievements of four elementary and junior high school students from the Papua Taruna Boarding School (SATP) Timika who will take part in the Asia International Mathematical Olympiad (AIMO) in Tokyo, Japan, on August 2-6.
YPMAK Management Chair Leonardus Tumuka in Timika, Wednesday (6/4/2025), said the four SATP students are Yulian Diwitau, Eka Balinol, Derinus Janampa, and Yoram Kum Uamang.
They previously won the AIMO competition held at the Hidayatullah Integral School-Timika, Mimika Regency, last May.
“The final of this competition will be held in Tokyo, Japan. We are proud that these four children can represent Indonesia,” said Leonardus.
The four students will later be further trained at the SATP achievement center unit for academic, psychological, and mental preparation, so that they are ready to take part in international competitions abroad.
Leonardus hopes that the achievements of the four students will inspire their peers and other Papuan children.
“These four children prove that Papuan children can also achieve proud achievements, as long as they are given the opportunity, of course with effort and hard work supported by all parties,” said Leonardus Tumuka.
