papuachronicle.co – Jakarta. The name Marselinus Ama Ola is now a topic of conversation in the Indonesian football world as the european football star was summoned by Indra Sjafri to join the Indonesian U-20 National Team training camp (TC).

Prior to his summoning, Marselinus was pursuing his career in Spain with the club UD Logrones, which competes in the Juvenil Division de Honor (U-19) of the Spanish League.

Marselinus was born on March 21, 2005 in Horowura Village, Adonara Tengah District, East Flores. Since childhood, he has shown extraordinary talent in football. Coming from an area far from the hustle and bustle of the big city, he honed his skills on a simple field. He honed his technique and mentality from an early age.

His initial steps in the world of football began at SSB Bintang Ragunan before joining the ASIOP Football Academy in 2016. With ASIOP, he continued to develop until he managed to make individual achievements as the Best Player of the Kompas Gramedia U-14 League 2019 and the Best Top Scorer of the Cup National Championship (TCNC) U-18 2023. There, he also led his team to become champions.

A big opportunity came in 2023, when he received an offer from UD Logrones to play in the Juvenil Division de Honor, the highest caste of youth football competitions in Spain. The decision to accept this offer was a big step in his career as it brought him to the European football scene.

Marselinus made his debut with UD Logrones on January 20, 2024. He showed a quick adaptation to the European style of play as it didn’t take long for him to score his first goal, which occurred in a match against Eibar on January 27, 2024.

With a height of 178 cm, he usually plays as a left winger. This position allows him to show his speed and dribbling ability.

His success playing in Spain further confirms his potential as one of Indonesia’s best talents. Despite his career abroad, Marselinus still gets attention from PSSI and the Indonesian National Team.

Marselinus’ participation in the U-20 National Team TC was an important moment in his career. Coach Indra Sjafri included him in the list of 30 players called for training camp. This is in preparation for the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup and the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification.

In the list of 20 players who were finally selected for qualification, Marselinus’ name was in the spotlight. He is the only player who is currently pursuing a career abroad. This shows that the coaching team sees him as a valuable asset. He can make a big contribution to Garuda Muda.

Although he was included in the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup squad, Marselinus did not get many opportunities to play. He only played for eight minutes in Indonesia’s 6-0 victory over the Philippines. However, this call-up is an opportunity for him. He wants to show that he deserves a bigger role in the national team.

The second TC for the U-19 National Team will be held in South Korea. There, the Garuda Muda squad is scheduled to face Argentina (August 28), South Korea (August 30), and Thailand (September 1) in the 2024 Seoul Earth On Us Cup. This match will be an important test for Marselinus to prove his quality.
