Jayapura City Tourism Office appreciates Imbi Culinary Week (ICW) and says that it truly helps Micro Small and Medium Enterprises in the region.

During ICW festival that was held in Imbi Park, South Jayapura, head of Jayapura City Tourism Office Matias Mano says that the income of local Micro Small and Medium Enterprises rises up to 75%.

“There are some merchants who had their income rises up to 25%, some 50%, and there are also those who rise up to 75%. And as you can see, this festival greatly helps them,” he said.

The festival, which held twice in January 2023, have helped locals to promote their products to the mass.

Mano explained that money circulation during the first festival is about IDR 250 million and on the second festival is about IDR 300 million. In the future, his party will rearrange festival ICW to be held only once a month.

“Because we also have to consider about traffic and parking lot issue, as this has become our primary evaluation with Jayapura City Police,” said Mano.

He adds that his party also plan to held culinary festival in South Jayapura district, Abepura district, and Heram district to help push Micro Small and Medium Enterprises in effort to deeply involve them to succeed the festival.

Because this festival brings positive impact and also there are many other activities in the festival that would show Jayapura City is truly a safe place,” he said.
