Jayapura City Futsal Association (AFK) continue to develop their young talents, especially those who are in Junior High and Highschool by throwing U-13 and U-16 cup that will be held on February 25th, 2023.

Head of Jayapura AFK, Matias Mano on Thursday, says that other than the U-13 and U-16, they will also held U-20 afterwards.

“Like what YPPK Taruna Dharma Jayapura Highschool did on January 23rd, 2023, where they held a city level Junior High futsal tournament,” he said.

Other than that, he stressed that this tournament could also prevent the youngsters from drugs, alcohol, and other bad influences. They could be directed into more positive activity.

He adds that early development is clearly need to be made for them to prepare for a higher competition such as Grand Champion U-13 and U-16 in Jakarta, whereas U-20 could have been for national futsal league and Papua PON futsal team selection.

“This must be put to a good use. We hope that every school can participate on this event where this is also part Jayapura AFK program for 2023,” he continued.

Martias also says that Jayapura AFK would also held a tournament after Eid-Al Fitr which is on April 2023.
