Ricky Kambuaya, born in Sorong, West Papua, is a man who became the pillar of Indonesian Football Team.
The genius of Kambuaya made him the centerpiece for the Indonesian Football Team manager, Shin Tae-yong in AFF Cup 2020 and Asian Cup Qualification 2022.
Kambuaya is one of the talented player from Papua, just like Boas Salossa, Ronny Wabia, and Eduard Ivakdalam. Kambuaya now plays for the League 1 Club, Persib Bandung.
He began his career in League 2 at PSMP Mojokerto Putra club in 2017 until 2018. When he was promoted to League 1 in 2019, he was recruited by PSS Sleman, but only played 14 matches in that season.
Then he joined Persebaya Surabayain 2020 under the leadership of Aji Santoso, in this is where Kambuaya’s got his big attention. His excellent performance made him got the call from the Indonesian Football Team, and he became the starter for Indonesia in AFF Cup 2020.
Along with Alfeandra Dewangga, Ricky Kambuaya became one of the pillars for the Garuda under the leadership of Shin Tae-yong.
He became Man of the Match in his match against Cambodia in Group B Preliminary match and the second leg against Thailand in AFF Cup 2020.
Then, in the FIFA Matchday against Timor Leste, Ricky became the equalizer and liven up the spirit of the Garuda squad.
In April 6th, 2022, Ricky Kambuaya officially part of Persib Bandung, and recently he has fulfilled his duty in qualifying Indonesia for the 2023 Asian Cup. He now will have the laser-like focus in Persib Bandung for the 2022 season, and bring glory to the team.
